Tired of the treadmill? A change of scenery can help keep you inspired and excited in your fitness journey. As the weather gets warmer and the days get longer, a run, hike, or power walk away from the gym a few times a week is a great way to get your heart-rate up. “I love being outdoors and in the fresh air,” says Tammy Hembrow about complementing her weight-training routine with some nature-based cardio. “What I love when I do an outdoor workout is the view. It keeps me really motivated to keep going.”

To maximize fat burn and build muscle definition, Tammy recommends finding a trail that has both flat surfaces with a few inclines. “To get the most out of my run I definitely pick a place that has a variety of terrain. I love Burleigh in Australia and Hollywood Hills in America.” She also challenges women to find other ways to get their cardio in in addition to running. From park plyometrics (think burpees and jump squats) to beachfront aerobics, there are dozens of ways to do it, and her app Tammy Fit makes sure to provide recommendations as well.
